Firstly there are no real Thai style Go Go bars in Cambodia.
The reason for this is that there are strict laws on how Cambodian women should behave when working in bars.
Although, as far as I know, dancing on the bar top is not illegal, the manner in which it is done can draw attention from the police. The woman must be fully dressed. A bikini or other revealing clothing will incur a visit from the police.
The Viper bar tried to be a Go Go bar, with a 4 star General as a partner they thought they'd get away with it. The bar was closed.
More recently the RSB Bar was shut down for having women dance naked.
A similar thing nearly happened at Sharkies when one of their parties got out of hand.
Golden Vine advertises itself as a pole dancing bar, however the girls are fully clothed. Even the advert caused a visit from the Ministry of Tourism and the police.
One thing that the Golden Vine is well known for is Lan's cooking. The Sunday roast at the Golden Vine Bar is excellent .
Other hostess bars in Phnom Penh also do bar top dancing so don't be surprised if they jump on the bar in front of you and start doing a bump n grind.
